THE FACILITY

Sound Machine Studio was designed to give artists and bands a comfortable and functional creative space to craft their music. Each room is mechanically separated from the next, and all studio walls contain multiple layers of dry wall and plywood, which greatly reduce sound transmission between rooms. Two independent air conditioning systems allow the loudest parts of the studio to remain isolated from the other rooms. The HVAC systems are also mechanically separated from the studio framing, allowing the air to run all the time during the quietest of takes, even in the hot Texas summer.

The control room, designed in consultation with acoustic engineer Anthony Hardey, features a 12ft ceiling, 4 broadband bass trap enclosures, a 2ft deep diffuser, and 4” Owens 703 sound absorption built into the walls and suspended over the mixing position. The acoustic treatment in the control room yields a very clear, well balanced, and accurate sound.

The live room provides perfect sight lines into the two iso booths and control room. The sound in the live room is lush and clear, and it is easily sculpt-able with go-bos and rugs. Drums can sound huge or very tight and controlled.

Finally, Casa Bonita (aka the cabin) allows clients to stay on site and enjoy the quiet country atmosphere. The Cabin sleeps 4 people comfortably with one bunk bed room, one queen bedroom, full bathroom, living and kitchen area. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies, and the living room contains a large DVD collection, big screen TV, and vintage video games.
